Volunteer Opportunities

Clik volunteers are expected to make a six month commitment to work weekly two hour shifts at the House in the CLIK Room. Prior to volunteering, one must attend a general volunteer meeting which is held every 4-8 weeks at the House. At this meeting an overview of the House is presented as are the various requirements and opportunities for those wishing to volunteer. If an individual then decides to work as a CLIK Volunteer, another training is later conducted in the CLIK room and the person is put on a shift with a seasoned volunteer until he/she is comfortable working alone.

CLIK shifts run for 2 hours between the hours of 3-8 Monday through Friday and from 2-8 on Sunday. The room is not open on Saturdays.

MOST SHIFTS ARE CURRENTLY IN NEED OF ADDITIONAL VOLUNTEERS.

Those individuals who choose to work evening or Sunday shifts are generally put with a group of 2 or 3 and this group rotates, making sure (through emails) that someone is always there so that the room may stay open. CLIK volunteers are expected to have had some computer and Internet experience. However, no one is expected to be familiar with all the software programs we have and training is given in those considered most important. The most important qualification a volunteer can bring is a fondness for and an appreciation of children. Flexibility and enthusiasm far outweigh technical expertise. If you are interested in CLIK, please contact OLGA CORRAL the Program Director. Ronald McDonald House is a health organization; we do require an up to date TB test as well as a screening for measles. These tests will be discussed and may be done free of charge at Stanford Hospital. Please complete the Volunteer form and copy and email it to OLGA CORRAL. Thank you for your interest.
